Last year, more than 170,000 technicians working within the wind industry received GWO certified training accessed from more than 550 third-party certified training providers throughout the world. GWO is on a path to expand this workforce significantly while creating a broader set of standards and frameworks, so we need your help.

How will you contribute to the development of safety training and workforce development?

We are creating this new position to move the organisation towards a digital learning management setup. The candidate will have the opportunity to support with the process of transitioning to a digital setup including the selection and development of learning systems and subsequent supporting processes. You will play a key role in the GWO Secretariat, contributing with your professional competence and belief in high achievement. As our Learning Systems Specialist, you will manage GWO’s learning systems and support the objectives of the Training Quality Assurance (TQA) function.

Key Responsibilities:

Learning System Management

  • Oversee the administration, configuration and maintenance of the GWO learning systems.
  • Ensure seamless integration of GWO learning systems with other organisational systems and third-party tools.
  • Monitor the collection, accuracy and analysis of trainee performance data.
  • Develop and deliver reports using data from GWO learning systems to track training outcomes, compliance and audit readiness.
  • Support training providers in the proper use of GWO learning systems to ensure consistency and reliability of data.
  • Regularly update and maintain content in the learning systems, ensuring alignment with accreditation and training standards.
  • Work closely with the GWO IT department to ensure alignment.
  • Act to continuously improve GWO learning systems, ensuring they remain fit for purpose.

TQA Support

  • Collect, aggregate and analyse data in GWO learning systems.
  • Prepare reports, summaries and data sets from GWO learning systems to assist in risk-based approach to training quality assurance.
  • Support the certification process ensuring that the awarding of WINDA training records for personnel is rigorous and consistent with the established standards. This includes verifying that individuals who complete the training programmes meet the required competencies and qualifications.
  • Participate in TQA processes and projects.

Compliance Oversight

  • Ensure all operations of GWO learning systems adhere to organisational policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
  • Monitor updates to accreditation standards and recommend adjustments to learning systems processes.
  • Maintain documentation of compliance processes and system usage policies.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Training

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for certification bodies, training centres and internal teams regarding GWO learning systems usage and compliance.
  • Collaborate with relevant internal stakeholders to develop and host content and solutions in GWO learning systems.
  • Conduct training sessions and create user guides for training centre staff on functionalities pertaining to GWO learning systems.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to enhance functionality and processes pertaining to GWO learning systems.
  • Stay informed about technological advancements in learning systems and compliance to recommend and implement best practices.
  • Collaborate with IT and system vendors to address technical issues and implement upgrades.

Project Management

  • Complete assigned projects within assigned deadlines and budgets.

As our new colleague you are:

A well-grounded individual with healthy values and excellent interpersonal skills. You know the importance of communicating constructively, and even when you do not know the answer to a question, you take the time to assist the person seeking an answer.

What we expect:

  • At least 2-3 years’ experience setup and managing training and learning architecture, such as LMS and LRS platforms, preferably in an accreditation or training environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of learning systems including LRS, LMS systems and the different content-hosting standards such as LTI, cmi5, xAPI, SCORM, etc.
  • Strong data management, analysis and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining learning technology systems.
  • Exceptional organisational, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English (verbally and written).
  • Experience with authoring programmes and content design.
  • Experience working with learning systems e.g. LTI, LRS and LMS systems internationally, including accommodating multiple languages.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education Technology, Information Systems, Digital Learning or a related field
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations applicable to learning systems.
  • Experience selecting and setting up learning systems to meet organisational needs would be an advantage.
