REcognition builds upon existing skills and legacy training, opening doors to work as a technician in wind.
GWO’s REcognition scheme is a new way for groups of people with existing training to acquire industry standard training. REcognition is specifically designed to supplement and align accredited training with GWO’s globally recognised wind technician training standards.
Schools, colleges, trade unions and accredited training scheme providers can build on the skills, experience and certifications of their students and teams with REcognition. Partnerships between a REcognition Provider and one or more of these groups will create new ways to add industry standard training, opening up fresh pathways into renewable energy careers.

Have the internal Recognition Process audited
For each legacy training
1. Conduct a GAP analysis of the legacy training agains the GWO Module(s)
2. Submit the documentation to GWO
3. Approval to deliver GAP Training and/or WINDA Training records for recognised training
Almost any relevant, accredited, legacy training can be recognised. If you are a GWO certified training provider or you are looking to align with industry standards, think about the following.
Recognition Providers must have existing GWO Training Provider certifications. REcognition can only be offered for GWO standards and modules that are already certified.
REcognition providers can work with institutions to create a solution that assesses gaps between their scheme and GWO standards. Any gaps with industry recognised standards can be trained in partnership.
Good practices on collaboration agreements include defined responsibilities and duties, curriculum, instructor competencies, compensation, management systems etc. REcognition quality management processes will require documentation compliant with GWO’s Requirements.
Set a date or add a REcognition extension audit to your regular auditing cycle. Additional aspects contained in GWO’s Requirements documents will need to be clearly understood by you and your auditor.
GWO will review your audit report once submitted. If it meets GWO’s requirements, a REcognition Provider can then deliver gap training and upload WINDA records.
Once you have completed your certification and have your REcognition process on scope, you can use the gap analysis tables below to begin assessing legacy trainings...
