Created in collaboration with strategic partners including the Global Solar Council (GSC), the two GWO solar standards are tailored to the needs of the solar industry. They focus on supporting the workforce in training workers for utility-scale sites. Five solar modules will be integrated into two separate standards: a Solar Safety Standard and a Solar Technical Standard.
Why Public Review?
GWO has an established review process for new and revised standards based on our ‘by the industry, for the industry’ approach. We are reinforcing this approach by publishing late-stage exposure drafts for public review. As industry experts your voice is highly valuable to us, and we kindly ask you to please review the draft and submit feedback through the feedback form.
Developed in collaboration with subject matter experts from GWO member companies, the GWO High Voltage Standard is tailored to address the increasing need for standardised HV training in the wind industry. This standard draws on workplace risk assessments by employers and accident statistics specific to the wind industry from G+. It includes two training modules: High Voltage Operations and HV Cable Pulling.
The High Voltage Operations module prepares workers to operate and make safe High Voltage equipment and systems both onshore and offshore. Workforce that might utilise the training includes Commissioning and Service Technicians.
The HV Cable Pulling module prepares workers to support HV cable pulling operations for wind turbines during preassembly, construction and service. The workforce that could use this training includes Offshore Preassembly Technicians, as well as Service Technicians, both onshore and offshore.
