This training standard should be read alongside GWO's Requirements for Training. The GWO Basic Technical Training is divided into the following five modules:
Click here to download the PDF file of the Basic Technical Training Standard Version 9. This BTT Training prepares participants for further company specific training by providing them with the necessary training to perform basic hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, bolt tightening and installation tasks.
When does a participant need the BTTB to meet the prerequisite for the BTTI?
Participants who had completed the BTTM prior to the 2nd of May 2023 have hydraulic torquing and tensioning as part of their training and therefore do not require the new BTTB to attend the BTTI module. Participants who completed the BTTM version 8 or higher, would not have received hydraulic torquing and tensioning training and therefore need to have completed the BTTB to attend the BTTI module.
Technicians with existing training from GWO member companies can have their skills merit assessed and where appropriate can be offered gap training to fill in any of the missed learning objectives.
This standard should be read alongside GWO's Requirements for Training. Download the Requirements for Training here.
The earlier version of this standard (V8) available here, remains valid until 24 December 2024
