Winner Highlights for the 2024 Safety & Training Awards
The Training Team of the Year Award recognises teams and instructors who deliver according to GWO standards and create high-quality learning experiences. At the 2024 Safety & Training Awards, five companies were honoured, with RelyOn UK standing out for its outstanding contributions.
For the second consecutive year, RelyOn UK was awarded the GWO Training Team of the Year Award for Northern Europe, acknowledging excellence in workforce development, training innovation, and industry impact.
RelyOn UK’s commitment to training goes beyond the classroom. Through partnerships with local colleges, the company provides specialised training for unemployed youth, helping them transition into the offshore wind sector. It’s digital adaptive learning platform tailors educational content to the participant’s individual knowledge level, ensuring consistent proficiency for all learners. The platform also supports multiple languages and accommodates varying abilities, enhancing accessibility and learning outcomes.

Industry leaders appointed to help drive Workforce ’26 strategy at non-profit association. New member companies RES Group, BayWa r.e. and Ocean Winds now represented in balanced, global team
GWO and ABEEólica collaborate to align industry standards with Brazilian regulations.
In 2024, Basic Technical Training (BTT) made up almost 10% of all modules uploaded to WINDA, with the recently added Bolt Tightening module seeing significant uptake, particularly in the USA. GWO Training Committee Chair Ann Duedahl highlights the importance of expanding the availability of this and other training standards to enhance workforce safety and skill development.
New member RES will bring four decades of global expertise to GWO, as they work together to strive for an injury-free work environment. RES’ safety leadership processes are overseen by the global Safety Leadership Team (SLT), ensuring an ongoing commitment to assessing safety performance, advocating reporting and preventing incidents.
