Wind industry training providers from across the world will be putting their best foot forward as the GWO Safety & Training Awards 2024 get under way today.
The awards, first launched in 2021, shine a light on the teams and individuals who make delivery of GWO standards possible, training hundreds of thousands of wind technicians every year in over 50 countries worldwide.
All the categories from our previous editions have been retained, and this year the organisers have introduced a new “Instructor of the Year” category, allowing for even greater focus to be placed on those who deliver essential learning outcomes for the wind energy workforce.
Jakob Lau Holst, CEO of Global Wind Organisation, says: “The GWO Safety & Training Awards are one of the highlights on our calendar and I am delighted to see them back for 2024. The programme is back, bigger and better than ever before and I know that the competition from entrants will be intense. That’s why we’re encouraging you to bring your ‘A Game’ and provide a great submission for the judges.”
As before, companies will be focused on the flagship “Training Team of the Year” award, which looks holistically at a training provider’s approach to delivering great training. Previous editions have seen winners from Europe, Middle East and Africa, the Americas and Asia Pacific regions picking up awards in this category.
The judges will also choose a unique individual as Young Achiever of the Year, meaning there are several ways for companies to make the most of the opportunity and potentially win the coveted award.
Entries can be submitted online from February 7th. A judging panel of experts drawn from across GWO’s membership and partners will begin assessing the entries during May and June, with the shortlist announced on August.
