GWO is working on better understanding the needs of stakeholders and creating new materials to help build a community of safety and training. A core element of our work is to foster new talent and to encourage potential new entrants to pursue a career in the wind industry. Our ambition is delivered via two routes:
First, 'Propel Your Career', a global marketing campaign to promote a career as a wind technician to new talent and so broad the wind workforce in line with GWO industry forecasts. Propel promotes straight forward advice on how to start a career in wind through accessing the current relevant information from GWO, members, other industry associations and training providers.
Second, to simplify and add structure to the career pathways into, and through, wind. For example, our Entry Level Framework shows packages of training suitable for GWO certified training providers and educationalists to offer to new entrants. The worldwide recognition of how the Framework can best meet specific local and national settings is seeing GWO working with a variety of interest groups.
If you run a wind industry organisation, training provider, or college with similar objectives, already offering entry level training or are thinking about doing so, we’d like to hear your ideas on what you need and how GWO can helps.
Specific requests or questions will receive the swiftest response by emailing GWO on info@globalwindsafety.org
