The WindEurope conference hosts an annual event aimed at students interested in joining the wind industry. This year, Global Wind Organisation (GWO) will lead a panel discussion on "Empowering the Next Generation of Wind Energy Professionals."

The Global Wind Workforce Outlook 2024-2028 highlights a critical need for over 532,000 technicians in the wind energy sector within the next five years, with 212,000 of these being new talent. This growing demand presents a significant opportunity for students, early-career professionals, and those transitioning from other industries to contribute to a just and equitable energy transition. However, meeting these workforce needs will require a rapid expansion of safety and technical training capacity.

In this session, GWO will outline workforce challenges and opportunities, describing typical job roles and career pathways within the wind industry. It will also emphasize the role of education and training in meeting industry demands. Participants will gain insights into GWO’s initiatives to inspire and inform future wind energy professionals.

The discussion will feature perspectives exploring strategies to bridge the gap between education, technical training, and careers in wind energy. Students will leave with a clearer understanding of how to navigate their path into this dynamic, future-focused sector.

This session is specifically designed for students.
