Introducing New Board Member: Tove Lunde

At the most recent GWO Annual General Assembly, three new members were elected to the Board of Directors. The important work our Board members undertake suggested this was the perfect moment to introduce, Tove Lunde, Edward Chargualaf, and Rachel Porto, in turn, to the wider GWO community.

With an impressive 34 years of experience in energy, Tove Lunde serves as the Vice President of Safety, Security, and Sustainability for Equinor Renewables. Throughout her career, Tove has played pivotal roles in shaping safety governance and organizational structures vital for the development, execution, and operation of renewable energy projects globally. Hands-on experience in offshore safety supervision, coupled with a profound understanding of HSE aspects relevant to the wind industry, makes Tove an invaluable addition to the board.

“I joined the oil and gas industry at the time of several major accidents and got the importance of safety into my backbone at a very early start of my job career. Growing up in organizations that have emphasized the importance of always putting safety first has become an integral part of who I am and how I lead.”

Tove recognizes the impact of internationalization on workforce diversity and acknowledges the strides made in most dimensions, yet underscores the pressing need for improved gender diversity, particularly in operational roles. Her vision aligns with addressing workforce challenges in the wind industry, including the need to respond to growing demands for green energy while ensuring safety standards amidst economic fluctuations.

GWO is thrilled to welcome Tove Lunde to our board of directors, as she replaces her long-serving colleague, Thor Inge Throndsen. Lunde's expertise and passion for the wind safety industry promise to bring fresh perspectives and valuable contributions that will undoubtedly propel our organization and the industry forward.
